Logline Debunking the myth about a so-called water issue for the local population of the Crimean Peninsula.
Synopsis With each passing day, water is becoming more and more scarce in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea. The main narrative of the Russian media is putting all the blame on the Ukrainian authorities. However, does the population of the peninsula really need water from the Dnipro River? To rectify the situation, Russia is spending large amounts of money on the water supply restoration: seawater desalination projects, water diversion projects, extensive artesian well drilling, water conservation projects. Since the problem is getting worse by the day, what was the money spent on? Meanwhile, both military facilities, which have significantly increased the population of the peninsula, and the governing bodies are enjoying an uninterrupted water supply, even though the civilians are suffering from water shortage. For instance, water parks, large-scale construction projects in nature reserves and entertainment centers are constantly well supplied with water, unlike schools and hospitals. Thus, will the authorities that are currently in control of the Crimean Peninsula try to resolve the issue in the near future? Or are they going to allocate more state funds to try and come up with solutions and to put more blame on Ukrainian politicians?
